Student calendar/start & end times varied based on daily assignment:
Elementary: 8:45am - 3:45pm
Middle School and High School: 7:30am - 2:30pm
6 hours and 30 minutes or 6 hours and 45 minutes a day

Job Summary: Assist students with disabilities who need support to access the curriculum and benefit from their educational placement.
The responsibilities of a special education paraprofessional foster and nurture a positive learning environment for all students. A special education paraprofessional has the ability to work with a variety of disabilities that affect student communication needs, behavioral performance, self-care skills, and academic supports. Under the supervision of a special education teacher, the paraprofessional is responsible to carry out appropriate student interventions, accommodations, and modifications.
Work Requirements and Characteristics:
Education/Certification/Licensure:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Valid Minnesota driver’s license
Experience:
Previous experience in working with children, specifically with disabilities, preferred
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge and ability to apply basic computer, math and language skills
- Ability to work well with students and staff
- Ability to work with children of various ability levels
- Knowledge of district discipline policy
- Knowledge and application of Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training if required by the position
- Position requires exercising confidentiality in handling district information
