POSITION SUMMARY: Supervise staff and test students for advancement within SwimAmerica guidelines. Answer questions from parents. Multiple positions may be available to better allow for flexible scheduling.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Communicate with instructors and Aquatics Coordinator to ensure adequate staffing for all classes.
- Test students for advancement.
- Liaison to parents regarding SwimAmerica.
- Oversee and evaluate instructor’s performance and placement.
- Monitor lessons to ensure that Swim America guidelines for class structure are followed.
- Inform Aquatics Coordinator of pool maintenance or safety issues related to the facility.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Aquatics Coordinator.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Superior verbal communication skills.
- Comfortably interact with all ages of children and their parents.
- Possesses adequate knowledge of the SwimAmerica Program and competitive swimming techniques.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
- Certification and experience as a SwimAmerica instructor.
- Completion of the SwimAmerica site supervision certification, or ability to obtain.
- Must have competitive swimming experience; knowledge of swimming techniques and teaching methods preferred.
- CPR and First Aid certification or ability to obtain required.
- Previous experience working in a swim program preferred.
- Previous supervision experience preferred.
SCHEDULE AND LOCATION:
Flexible scheduling and shifts vary Monday through Sunday at the New Prague Fitness and Aquatic Center. Swimming lesons are held throughout the school year a few evenings a week and during the summer during the mornings and evenings. Additional hours for lifeguarding is available.
TRAINING:
SwimAmerica Site Supervisor training is completed online. Attendance at staff trainings is required.
